Smoke and Mirrors at the Bow and Sparrow
We had an art show last weekend at the Bow and sparrow art gallery in Chinatown LA. It was basically an art show consisting of close friends who are all conveniently artist. My friend Nick was the curator and basically put the whole thing together.
You can check out pictures of the art show at the MRA Blog.
I made two pieces for the show. I was making glass heads out of clear glass and gold fuming. I put them on glass rods and mounted them to a box I made with wood. It was my first stab at sculpture and i really enjoyed it. I was also working on making a chandelier with glow powder and clear glass, but I didn't have enough time to finish it.

Custom pipe
Here is the custom pipe that I made for this nice guy. I haven't really used before because I'm not into the way it looks.
I do like the way this turned out though and I'll probably start using it a little more . I put a small marble on the front too and a vortex marble next to it. The front of the pipe is all color change.
All said and done I liked the way it turned out and the customer was very happy...... but I hate doing custom work. I feel too much pressure to get the work done, even if the customer is really cool. The pressure makes me I don't think I'll be making custom pieces right now.
Right now I'm going to make whatever I am feeling like making at the moment and if people like it they can get it, if not, thats ok too.
Red and Orange Side Car
The silver fumming came out really nice againt the red and orange colors of this side car.
